Notable Composers of Piano Music

Beethoven -German Composer 1770 - 1827
Ludwig van Beethoven was born on December 16, 1770 in Bonn, in the Rhineland of Germany. He lived in Vienna from 1792 until his death.

Frederic Francois Chopin was one of the most eminent composers of piano music. He was born on Mar. 1, 1810, in Zelazowa Wola, near Warsaw, Poland.

He was taught the piano by his father and then Czerny (Vienna, 1822-3), establishing himself as a remarkable concert artist by the age of 12.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Mozart is considered to be one of the greatest prodigies in the history of music. The son of a violinist, his extraordinary musical gifts were apparent almost from infancy.

The son of a schoolmaster, he showed an extraordinary childhood aptitude for music, studying the piano, violin, organ, singing and harmony.

Robert Schumann (1810-1856)
Schumann is considered by many the quintessential composer of the Early Romantic genre. He was one of the definitive members of a generation of artists perhaps unparalleled in the number of master composers it included, also among whom were Felix Mendelssohn.
